lately

I keep forgetting to bring my camera to work so I can put up some pictures, which is why I haven't posted in a while. Sorry! The least I can do today is let you know what we've been up to lately, (without pictures) seeing that today is another forgetful day. Last weekend was jam packed with visiting friends and an event that AJ was in charge of for his bank. Then of course back to work on Monday, canning some YUMMY apple butter on Tuesday/Wednesday, church Wednesday night, work today and then off to a Bible study tonight. That is a pretty standard week for us, and I am hoping sometime soon we will have a less eventful weekend so we can get some stuff done around the house.

I have been in denial that I will have a 2 year old running around the house in a month. Looking back at pictures from last year, I can see how much he has grown and changed. I came across my absolute favorite video of all time, so I decided to post it again. This was around Christmas last year. Although his dance moves have changed...his love for dancing has not. Enjoy!

Back to reality

Life has been very busy since we've been back, but we are surviving. This weekend is going to be just as busy, just with a little more fun. I survived another plane ride and the trip couldn't have gone more smoothly. I had never flown Southwest until now, and they were by far my best experience in a plane.

Since I am catching up on pictures, I have some before and during our trip. Our little baby is growing up and he will be 2 before I know it. At 22 months he is extremely talkative and can say most words. He sings to the Veggie Tales cd and is very good at telling me "no" when he is not ready for bed.

He gets excited about little things, such as the moon, and will always find where "the moon in the sky" is. He loves seeing his friends at church and talks about them regularly at home. He is still intrigued with music, and especially the "tar" (or guitar).

He likes to wear hats and sunglasses, but only when it is his idea to put it on. He likes to collect rocks and sticks, and frequently picks flowers for me.

He still only has 11 teeth and for some reason only has 3 of his bottom, front ones.

He is not too old to stop playing peek-a-boo.

He is an extremely good traveler.

He likes to climb on everything, especially our couch.

He never gets tired of going down the slide, especially when daddy goes too!

He loves to relax just like daddy.

He knows all of his animals and animal sounds. Here he is doing "pinch pinch" because we were looking at a crab farm...and everyone knows that crabs say "pinch pinch"!

His great-grandmother made him another "bank" (or shall I say blanket?) It only took her a few days to create such a wonderful masterpiece! She made him one just like it as a newborn and he has already worn it out. He loves his new "bank" and had such a fun time with his "nannie and papaw" in Florida.

almost done

Well our vacation is almost done and it practically happened in a blink of an eye. Somehow I managed to not post any pictures again, so I guess that will have to wait until next week. I am not looking forward to such a busy schedule waiting my arrival, especially since I need to add a more routine workout into it. I managed to only run once while on vacation, and eat more sweets than I normally do in a whole year. Blah! Now that I am completely ashamed, I am going to finish watching some football and enjoy my last morning of sleeping in.

update

In case you were wondering, we made it safe and sound to Florida. Prayerfully we did not have anything "exciting" happen at the airport like we did last year. So far we have relaxed at the pool, played lots of cards after Ari went to sleep, and had some great home-cookin' from my grandma. We have also managed to pass around a cold between the three of us, so we have taken advantage of naps every day. It took no time for Ari to get used to another set of grandmas and grandpas, of course. He has thoroughly entertained them with his humor, dancing skills, and speech. We are anticipating a very hectic schedule when we come back so we are thankful for this downtime right now (and extra sleep).
