what's to come

This week I managed to post more than once. Shocking! It has been challenging the last month or so to get time outside of the home to blog. Sssooooo...hopefully we will be getting internet in the near future. I did say near, right?

We are in the works of getting a functional computer, then we will be searching for some deals. Deals as in...hopefully something around $20 a month. That isn't slow. Or require a home phone. Can you tell I haven't really done a lot of research? If you have any suggestions let me know.

I'm just excited for some change.

And speaking of change...I have plans for this blog. I haven't exactly figured out what that is, but having the internet at home should allow for some quality time spent on here. Revamping. I know you all love watching Ari get big. And dance. And laugh. And whatnot. But there are more important things I feel I should share. So change it is. And near it is.

venturing out

I figured this wouldn't last long, but he managed for a whole 15 minutes! (He loves his 76 degrees, ok!) Haha So, I'll spare you the disgusted faces he made nearly the whole time.

valentine's tradition

Every year since we've been married we have made a few things tradition for Valentine's weekend. We don't buy gifts, but instead we splurge and go out to eat to my favorite little place, Cafe Patachou, and buy fresh flowers at the place next door.

Just makes me want spring to be here all the more!

We like to get away for a night so we go to Lake Monroe and stay on a friends boat. This is where we like to spend most of our summer weekends, but it is so quiet and peaceful during the winter that we like to go at least once.

But first we made a stop at Pizza Hut for dinner. (A great place for Valentine's dinner if I do say so myself!)

We were unaware that the heat hadn't been working while we were off at dinner, so we had to make do for a little while in front of the oven.

This was his favorite spot in the boat. I can see a future captain!

I think this was my favorite part of all, the drive home.

I had never seen the whole lake frozen over before.

It was so snowy you could barely see the land on the other side.

Back home again where it is sunny and 76!

feeding daddy

No, crayons do not go in the nose or mouth.

Or straw wrappers.

Or baseball bats.

sleep walking

I was awakened last night by my husband digging in our bottom drawer of the dresser. I rarely wake up to anything. I'm not exactly sure what time it was but it was somewhere in the midst between midnight and 5:30 am. Finally I got enough energy and sense to ask him what he was doing. "I'm looking for some shorts." Then he stands up and says "I'm still asleep" kind of laughs and gets back in bed, I guess realizing what he was doing. This morning when we woke up he asks if I remember last night and goes on to explain what he was doing. He says "The funny thing about last night is that I wasn't looking for shorts for me, I was looking for shorts for Ari." I couldn't stop laughing about it all day. He is seriously, the funniest person I know.
